Leading the way on sustainability
B&ES is taking a lead role in the development of sustainable building services engineering.
Recent research shows that 77 per cent of B&ES members are already involved in sustainable contracting with many taking a project management role.
Changes in corporate behaviour are starting to drive down energy costs - recent research from the Financial Times reveals - but expert guidance is more valuable than ever to help businesses make informed choices. This puts B&ES firms in pole position.
B&ES response to Parliament’s Energy and Climate Change Committee
Parliament’s Energy and Climate Change Committee monitors the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and its associated public bodies. It has 11 Members and is chaired by Mr Tim Yeo MP.
In August 2013 the committee opened an inquiry into Heat looking at whether the Government is taking the right approach to reduce heat energy demand.
The Association has submitted evidence focussing on space and water heating and, in particular, on the need to look at system performance as a whole rather than concentrating on the primary fuel emissions. Whatever analysis structure is implemented it should always centre on minimising the energy use at point of delivery and also the energy consumed in the systems that then deliver the energy. Download
Our technology choices section gives a broad introduction to the subject.
