Trustmark
The B&ES became one of the first trade associations to be appointed a scheme operator under the Government-inspired TrustMark initiative in 2005. Since that time the Association's domestic membership has overwhelmingly supported the scheme.
The first B&ES members to register with TrustMark were the Executive Committee of the Heating and Plumbing Services (HAPS) Group back in November 2005.
Reliable
The TrustMark concept has been established to help consumers ensure that the trades-people they employ in their homes are reliable, competent and fully capable of providing a quality service at a fair price.
Because B&ES members are subjected to independent inspection and assessment of their technical competence and commercial capability under the criteria for B&ES membership, they automatically qualify for TrustMark membership.
The Association has undertaken to meet the scheme registration fee on behalf of its members, and to upgrade its existing Double Guarantee scheme to ensure that it meets the warranty requirements laid down by TrustMark.
The public can find B&ES TrustMark registered members via the Association's own on-line search utility (www.b-estrustmark.co.uk/) which received an average of 64,000 hits per month in the first year of the scheme. This means 64,000 business opportunities every month for HVCA members.
Details of the Trustmark scheme are available from the Trustmark website.
