B&ES Scotland
Membership of B&ES in Scotland comprises almost 200 companies with a combined turnover of £400m. While very much an integral part of B&ES as a whole, B&ES Scotland has its own chairman and its own executive committee.
The Scottish Commercial and Contractual Committee ensures that legislation and working practices peculiar to Scotland are fully understood by the membership. B&ES Scotland is a member of Scottish CASEC which represents the interest of the specialist contracting sector of which itself is a constituent body of the Scottish Construction Forum. The Scottish Government recognised Advisory Body for Construction issues working in partnership B&ES Scotland and SELECT have a combined Health and Safety Group which offers a forum for discussion on m&e health and safety issues.
As a licensed scheme operator of the Construction Licensing Executive (CLE), B&ES Scotland plays an active part in promoting high standards of workmanship and service to clients and customers. The CLE is a Micro-generation Certification Scheme provider. This will provide a service for our B&ES members in Scotland who require approval to install micro renewable systems. Working in partnership with SELECT and the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers Federation, B&ES has developed a training centre for environmental technologies and have become a joint awarding body with the Scottish Qualification Authority to offer SVQ level 3 qualifications.
