Institute of Leadership and Management - Foundation Programme

Modules within the Foundation programme are aimed at aspiring managers, junior managers and /or those new to management responsibilities. Modules include:

Module 1: Planning

Designed to increase understanding of the key stages of the planning process, the correlation between planning and effective cost control and minimisation of risk.

Module 2: Basic Commercial Skills

Designed to increase understanding of the sales & marketing function, cost and cash flow, control and management of variations.

Module 3: Record & Document Control

Designed to increase understanding of record control, information management, client liaison and the interpretation of drawings and specifications.

Module 4: Procurement

Designed to increase understanding of materials purchasing, sub contractor procurement, procurement scheduling and design management.

Module 5: Basic Contracts

Designed to increase understanding of construction contracts and the effective management of contractual relationships.

Module 6: Management Skills

Designed to increase understanding of the different aspects of leadership & management, along effective goal-setting and motivation.

Institute of Leadership and Management - Advanced Programme

 

Modules within the advanced programme are aimed at experienced managers who wish to formalise their skills and/or progress to a senior management role. Modules include:

Module 1: Finance & Cash Flow

Designed to increase understanding of cost and value reconciliation, capital & cash management, forecasting and budgeting, and valuations and accruals.

Module 2: Contract Law

Designed to increase understanding of contract law, construction and engineering contracts, onerous contract conditions and the legal aspects of document control.

Module 3: Project Management

Designed to increase understanding of resource, costs and quality control, and the effective use of project management tools in procurement, information, and risk management.

Module 4: Management & Leadership

Designed to increase understanding of different management styles, and to maximise the effective use of mentoring, coaching, motivational and inspirational techniques.

Module 5: Customer Relationship Management

Designed to increase understanding of the potential of customer relationship management for business growth, and for the implementation of effective customer care strategies.

Module 6: Performance Management

Designed to increase understanding of performance management strategy, including effective appraisal techniques and the creation of a performance-friendly environment.

 

The delegate rate is £250 (plus VAT) per person per module for B&ES Members and £300 (plus VAT) per person per module for non-members.
