For the tenth year in succession, the Association undertook sponsorship of the Gold Award for outstanding industry service as part of the H&V News Awards 2011, presentation of which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London W1, on the evening of Thursday 19 April.

This year’s award was presented to Tony Bowen, president of the Heat Pump Association.

The B&ES Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) Group was the sponsor of the Heat Pump Champion category in the inaugural Heat Pump Awards 2011, presentation of which took place at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham, on the evening of Thursday 23 June.

The RAC-sponsored award – designed to recognise the contribution made by a single individual in promoting heat pump technology in the UK – resulted in an impressive “double” being achieved by Tony Bowen (see above).

The Association’s commitment to principal sponsorship of SkillPIPE – one of a suite of four competitions organised by SummitSkills, the sector skills council for building services engineering – has entered the third year of a three-year agreement.

The SkillPIPE 2011 final will be held at the Leeds College of Building from Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 September.

Following the success of the 2010 (inaugural) event, B&ES has, for the second year in succession, assumed lead sponsor status in the HVR Awards 2011, presentation of which will take place on the evening of Tuesday 11 October at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London WC2.
